These three typographic nudes where sketched out more than a year ago. They speak about being presented with two very different life paths I could take.
One path is about following my selfish needs and remaining in a protracted adolescence. The other path is about learning and following my principles, and stepping up to be the man that I am.
In each of these paintings, as in my other typographic nudes, I am the light color that the black shape tries to constrain and the color field supports.
Looking back, these paintings were anticipating future choices – choices for which I just had to pay attention. Now ask yourself this: what in your life are you not paying attention to that might be helpful or serve as a warning?
