30 x 60 (Private Collection)
Up until now my landscape paintings have been all about edges controlling or obscuring elements of the composition. Now I’m experimenting by blurring and pushing out those boundaries that we all live with and let control us. With this new painting some of the edges have been blurred and extended with charcoal, giving it more dimension and texture. Like this painting, I am slowing pushing out the boundaries in myself, my life, my career, and my perception of who I am. Is there a unique voice coming out of this landscape? Not always confidant, not always tidy, but yes, a voice with some growing strength.
